I am not very happy with the job they did. When i was trying to do it, I took the castle nut off the drivers side. i pounded the knuckle until the outer necktie rod came out and it sagged then friggin bad. that is a sign of a shitty worn out inner tie rod am I correct? and information technology needs to be replaced? thats what a number of videos I watched on youtube said. I told toyota this that I tried doing information technology myself and the drivers side jam nut was seized and the inner necktie rod drooped a lot [compared to the very stiff new ones]. Toyota just replaced the passenger side [the side that wasn't seized plainly] they said they "rarely do tie rods because they don't go bad" they called me mid job asking me if I yet wanted both sides done, I said thats why i brought y'all two pairs of inner and outer. they and so scared me with taking longer and charging me a bunch more to exercise the other side so I only had them exercise the passenger side because I absolutely needed my ride back for work the next day and it was already noon when they called. I got my truck back a few hours later for $411.54 for a correct inner and outer and an alignment, when I got into my truck the steering wheel was crooked mildly but totally noticeable. I was so mad that the encounter didn't go nearly how I expected information technology to go. I called them back and am pending a phone call back on what they can exercise to make me happy. the technician had the front desk lady explain the work he did because who knows what he was doing, hiding from me probably. She said he said [lol] that the drivers side was fine and didn't need to be replaced. they didn't mind to me when I said multiple times that i took it out of the knuckle and it sagged. To me they seemed lazy like they didn't want to mess with the seized side [it was aligned still] they simply wanted to do the piece of cake side [side that did demand it] and non listen to me. anyone have any thought on this? does this see seem funky to anyone? thank you again for all your suggestions - i might get some new wrenches and do the drivers side myself on a weekend. Thats some fucking BULLSHIT. Ive been working in the field for ix years. Pure laziness on the role of the tech. What ever happened to integrity and caring most the work 1 does. I would never blatantly ignore a customer's specific asking and and then half ass an alignment like that. especially after gouging you for $411. fucking tierods better be made of gold. That's not exactly a valid way to say an inner tie rod is bad. yous need to move the wheel side to side past hand. if they are worn out y'all tin can place your hand on them and feel the play in the joint. the tech may very well take been correct that they were fine on that side. With that beingness said, if a customer was addament about replacing those parts too, I would probably do it merely considering information technology'south already getting an alignment anyway. would have price you lot even more in labor though.
